Trees scramble to take root, slipping down the rocky slope. Danger covered in greenery. Beauty ever present.
The town of Chamonix, France, sits amongst monsters. Six peaks over 13,000 feet crowd the area, making it difficult to comprehend the scale of the valley below. This lookout revealed an afternoon rain cloud barreling toward us as we made our way down to the valley. There was something almost consuming about watching it move through the mountains, slowly swallowing a landscape that had been completely visible just moments before.
An unforgettable view, and one we certainly did not leave dry. Nevertheless, the powerful high-altitude sun gave us a pretty special sight before rain filled our bags and mud covered our shoes. Consuming Cloud captures those last few moments before the mountains disappeared.
